11:30AM - 12:45PM  DPE feedback: Common Problems presented by Steve Goetz Assistant Chief Flight Instructor and Assistant Professor at Southern Ill University As an examiner I see many applicants, and while each are unique, there are some commonalities regarding strengths and weaknesses.  This session will discuss some of those so that we, as flight instructors, can provide better training for our students in preparation for their practical tests.   • A NAFI Master CFI and DPE, Steve Goetz is a FAASTeam Rep, Civil Air Patrol examiner and mission pilot, member University Aviation Association and NAFI Master Reviewer. In addition, he is a Gold Seal flight instructor, rated in single and multi-engine airplanes and instrument airplane.  He also holds an AGI, IGI and an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certificate. Steve currently serves as Assistant Chief Flight Instructor and Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

1:00PM - 2:15PM  Integrating a Simulator into Your Flight School Syllabus presented by Josh Harnegle, VP of Marketing Redbird  A correctly integrated curriculum is key to getting the most out of your simulator, both financially and for client success. This session will cover the practical aspects of this challenging task. We will discuss when and where a sim makes the most sense in both Private Pilot and Instrument training.   • Josh Harnagel currently serves as Vice President, Marketing for Redbird Flight Simulations, an Austin Texas-based flight training technology company. He oversees a team that is responsible for marketing, communications, and product development. He has held a number of key positions at Redbird in the 10 years he has been with the company and has been instrumental in the explosive growth that Redbird has experienced since its inception.
