NAFI Urges Passage of GA Small Business Relief Act

The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) is calling on its members and EAAers to contact their congressional representatives on the House Aviation Subcommittee and urge their approval of the "General Aviation Small Business Relief Act of 2001.” (HR 3007) This bill, introduced by Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA), will help remedy the current financial crisis threatening General Aviation (GA) businesses nationwide. However, it has been stalled in committee since October 3 and NAFI says it is imperative that the bill be approved by committee and passed into law and soon before many aviation companies and flight training organizations are forced to fold. “The industry is still in dire straights when it comes to financial stability,” said NAFI President Sean Elliott. “Many organizations, especially the smaller ones, are teetering on the brink of bankruptcy. GA desperately needs this assistance.” Write your representative to express your views in favor of HR 3007 and that it be passed without delay.
