March 4, 2003 - The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) monthly publication, NAFI Mentor, will feature a new look beginning with the April 2003 issue, as the flight-instructor journal upgrades from its traditional newsletter format with additional content and a new glossy photo cover each month.

The monthly magazine will now feature 16 pages of critical information each month, all designed for flight instructors. Features will include items on motivating and teaching students more effectively, flight safety tips, regulatory issues, marketing ideas, among other topics.

“NAFI members represent the top level of the flight-instruction profession,” NAFI President Sean Elliott said. “Their monthly publication should reflect their high standards and professionalism. With the guidance of EAA Publications, we have achieved that while adding more ‘meat’ - the information that helps flight instructors be more effective teachers and promoters of aviation.”

NAFI Mentor will also continue to feature columns written by some of the nation’s leading flight instructors, highlighting their viewpoints on flight education, students and the aviation community. The magazine is available to all NAFI members as part of their membership.

NAFI was founded in 1967 and is dedicated to raising and maintaining the professional standing of flight instructors throughout the nation, as well as providing a safe and effective learning situation for students. In addition, NAFI initiates education and support programs throughout the aviation industry. The organization affiliated with EAA in May 1995. More information is available through NAFI’s World Wide Web site (www.nafinet.org).
