NAFI and FAASTeam Sign Updated Letter of Understanding

NAFI HEADQUARTERS, ALLEGAN, MICH. (March 4, 2011) – The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) and the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) recently signed an updated Letter of Understanding (LOU) to mutually promote aviation safety and awareness for pilots.

“The signing of this LOU was in an effort to update a previous LOU that both parties signed years ago and was in need of revision due to the many changes that the FAASTeam and NAFI have gone through over the past years,” said NAFI Executive Director Jason Blair. “NAFI recognizes the efforts of the FAASTeam and the positive impact the outreach of the FAASTeam has had on promoting aviation safety, we are glad to continue our support of this effort.”

The LOU encourages both the FAASTeam and NAFI to work together to reach pilots, aviation educators, and other airmen who have registered on FAASafety.gov. NAFI will promote the FAASTeam in its efforts and with its members.

NAFI noted that instructor involvement in FAASTeam program activities is vital to its success. “As instructors work with their customers and students, their promotion of FAASTeam efforts can help continue to build our culture of safety in aviation,” Blair said.

The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) is an international organization dedicated to raising and maintaining the professional standing of flight instructors. NAFI is the largest flight instructor association with over 5,500 active members. NAFI advocates on behalf of its members and the interests of the over 90,000 certified flight instructors in the United States.
