NAFI Signs Letter to Pilots - Impairing Medications
KALAMAZOO, MI.  (July 16, 2013) The FAA, in cooperation with industry and aviation organizations, today released this important "Letter to Pilots," as a call for safer flying. NAFI is proud to have been involved in this effort.

We as flight instructors emphasize the I'M SAFE model to our students. This letter is a great opportunity to re-emphasize safety to our student pilots, and also to those pilots to whom we give recurrent training, as well as a reminder to ourselves. Please make a special effort to discuss this important letter with those pilots that you influence.

Chair, National Association of Flight Instructors

The National Association of Flight Instructors’ members work at flight schools, universities, FBO’s, corporate flight departments, in the military and as independent instructors. NAFI was founded in 1967 and its members, who now teach in 17 countries, are dedicated to raising and maintaining the professionalism of flight instruction.

NAFI members influence active pilots daily; pilots training to advance their skills with new ratings or certificates and students working to become pilots. NAFI staff also works with industry and government and serves as a voice for flight instruction. NAFI shapes the direction of flight training.
