Celebrate NAFI's 50th Anniversary at Sun n Fun 2017

Join NAFI at Sun ‘n Fun April 4 – 9, 2017 and join in celebrating NAFI’s 50th anniversary

Visit us in Hangar A Booth #95

Members of NAFI staff and board of directors will be at the NAFI booth during Sun ‘n Fun 2017. NAFI enjoys kicking off the warm weather-flying season in Lakeland, Florida. This year it’s particularly special because of NAFI’s 50th birthday. Membership dues discounts available to booth visitors joining NAFI and to current members who renew during the show.

50th Anniversary Cookie Mixer

Join us for a NAFI members’ cookie mixer on Wednesday, April 5 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Special Activities Tent adjacent to the Aero Club hangar on Dolittle Rd. You’ll have the opportunity to meet many of our board members and staff personally to discuss aviation matters, the future direction of NAFI or simply hangar fly with your NAFI friends. During the mixer, we will have a drawing for door prizes and 50th memorabilia for all attendees.

NAFI Forum: Professional Flight Instructor 'Defined'

For the last 50 years, NAFI has maintained its primary focus “to establish and promote a high level of professionalism among aviation educators and to recognize their contributions to aviation safety, education and training.” What does professionalism for flight instructors mean?

Join NAFI Chair Bob Meder at  Sun ‘n Fun as he presents his vision and offers the opportunity for fellow aviation educators to join the conversation on defining a professional flight instructor and aviation educator. The forums will be at 9:00 am on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings in Room 9 at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy.

About NAFI

Members of the National Association of Flight Instructors work as independent instructors, at flight schools, universities, FBOs, corporate flight departments and in the military. Since 1967, NAFI and its members, who teach in 30 countries, are dedicated to increasing and maintaining the professionalism of flight instruction.

NAFI members influence active pilots daily: students working to become pilots, current pilots training to advance their skills with new ratings or certificates and pilots who seek to improve their skills with recurrent training. NAFI also serves as an advocate with industry and government as a voice for flight instruction. NAFI helps shape the current and future direction of flight training.
