NAFI Launches New Educational Efforts at AirVenture 2017

Join NAFI at Airvenure July 27 – 30, 2017 and join in celebrating NAFI’s 50th anniversary

As a fellow member of NAFI, I'm sure you're as excited as I am to celebrate our 50th anniversary. A key element of this important milestone is the launch of our first NAFI Professional Development Center (PDC) as the focal point of NAFI's activities at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017.

The PDC is a series of educational seminars and simulator-based training scenarios specifically designed to enhance knowledge on a variety of topics relevant to flight instructors. Equipped with a presentation stage and Basic Aviation Training Devices, it will be in our new location on the grounds near show center.

To kick off the PDC, we need member volunteers to present seminars and participate in the scenario-based training activities. This unique opportunity provides you the chance to coach your peers in a variety of flight training scenarios utilizing the ATDs and/or by making one or more presentations in the seminar area in our tent. As an added benefit, several of the presentations will be eligible to stream live on FAASTeamTV. These presentations will be WINGS approved and archived for viewing by all pilots on www.faasafety.gov.

To sign up for a presentation, click here for the program application form where you will see additional information about the presentations and where you can apply to present. Once submitted, we will be in touch with you about how your educational program fits in the PDC this year. If you are interested in volunteering in the scenario-based training, click here and complete the application. Additional information about the scenario-based training is on the application form.

I look forward to celebrating NAFI's 50th with you at AirVenture and working with you at the Professional Development Center.

Bob Meder,

NAFI Board Chair

About NAFI
Members of the National Association of Flight Instructors work as independent instructors, at flight schools, universities, FBOs, corporate flight departments and in the military. Since 1967, NAFI and its members, who teach in 30 countries, are dedicated to increasing and maintaining the professionalism of flight instruction.

NAFI members influence active pilots daily: students working to become pilots, current pilots training to advance their skills with new ratings or certificates and pilots who seek to improve their skills with recurrent training. NAFI also serves as an advocate with industry and government as a voice for flight instruction. NAFI helps shape the current and future direction of flight training.
